Combat Vision MMA had a chat with Fabian “The Assassin” Edwards after it was revealed by MMA Mad (Article HERE) that he will be making his professional MMA debut at Bellator 179 against Rafal Cejrowski. Fabian was due to make his debut at BAMMA 29, however, his opponent Mitchell Richards, was pulled from the fight, as he failed his medical and could not be Safe MMA registered.
Combat Vision MMA asked Fabian about his thoughts on the opportunity to fight under the Bellator banner and his opponent?
“It is a big opportunity. But, I don’t feel any pressure performing on such a big stage. My opponent is just a sloppy wrestler, who has got nothing to threaten me with. I will finish him in the first round”
When Fabian was asked if the hassle over the weekend only makes him more focused and fired up. Also tactically, does he feel the need to redefine the fight strategy for the new opponent?
“Yeah its make me even more hungry to go out there and perform. Plus he beat one of my team-mates in the amateur days. So, I want to get this fight back for the team and finish him. There is nothing I need to change, I am ready for anything. He should be the one trying to figure out how he’s going to handle me”
Fabian was asked by Combat Vision MMA, when he would be making his BAMMA debut – had there been any discussions?
“I am still signed under BAMMA. This is just a one fight deal and after I finish this guy, I will be back to BAMMA, hopefully for the Dublin card!”
