Patrick Mc Nally “I cannot wait to get into the cage and test my striking”

Combat Vision MMA were lucky enough to speak to Belfast Martial Arts Academy fighter Patrick Mc Nally after it was announced he would be fighting Malahide Martial Arts fighter Barry Hanna for the Cage Legacy FC amateur flyweight title at Cage Legacy 3 in July.

Combat Vision MMA asked Patrick about his thoughts on the fight being announced, his opponent, challenging for another amateur title and being fired up for this title fight after his recent loss at Shinobi War 10.

“My thoughts on this fight being announced are good. I am happy to get the opportunity to fight for the Cage Legacy flyweight title. The reason I am glad this fight was announced, because it was supposed to have taken place back in March 2017 and it didn’t due to me not having medicals done in time”

“I honestly do not know much about my opponent. I have seen a few clips of his fights and from studying them, I have seen he prefers to keep the fight standing. I am very interested in this fight and I cannot wait to get into the cage and test my striking. Most of my fights have went to the ground and I haven’t been able to showcase my stand up ability. I see the fight going how I want it to go. If I decide to keep it standing or if I decide to take it to the ground, it doesn’t make a difference, I am coming for that belt. If I have to use my wrestling, I will grind him out for 3 rounds to get that win”

“I am very grateful to be fighting for my second amateur title. I would like to thank my coaches for getting me the title shot. I would not be where I am today, if it wasn’t for my coaches or my teammates, they put so much time and effort into preparing me for all of my fights”

“The title loss at Shinobi 10 does spur me on,  I really beat myself up when I lost that title fight. I made a silly mistake and paid for it, now I hope to get back to winning ways, as I haven’t fought since Shinobi”

“My plan for 2017.  First of all is to get the Cage Legacy title. After that, I would like to get as many fights as I can and more titles. I also plan on helping out my teammates for their upcoming title fights”
